What are the causes of common surface defects in cable steel strip?
1. Bubble-like protrusions on the surface
Cause: Due to a large amount of gas in the slab that cannot escape during solidification, it forms gas inclusions after being sealed inside. During rolling, the cavities and holes are elongated, and as the thickness of the rolled material decreases, they are brought to the surface or edge. The high gas pressure causes dome-shaped protrusions to appear on the surface or edge of the product;
2. Tongue-shaped, strip-shaped, fish-scale-shaped, etc., non-smooth surfaces
Cause: Due to burrs, scabs, impurities, etc., attached to the surface of the slab, pressed in during rolling or remaining on the surface of the strip after flame cleaning;
3. Rough pits or orange peel-like surface
Cause: When the temperature of the rolling mill is high, iron oxide scale will adhere to the rolling mill, or the material of the rolling mill is poor, the temperature is high and the wear is serious. When pressed into the plate surface, pits will appear;
4. Cracks or fissures at the edges
Cause: Due to deviation from the center during edge cutting or cracks at the edge of the slab;
5. Scratches or scrapes on the surface
Cause: Due to friction between mechanical parts and steel strips, or operation between steel coils that are not tightly wound. If the workpiece is damaged at high temperature, iron oxide scale will be generated here, and if pressed in the subsequent process, it will cause traces;
6. Thickening or edge curling at the edges
Cause: During the coiling or conveying of the steel strip, due to excessive correction of the side guide or improper coiling, some layers of the coil protrude, which will cause damage during the loading, unloading, transportation, and storage of the coil;
7. M-shaped, linear, tongue-shaped, layered, etc., peeling phenomena at the edges
Cause: Due to bubbles, pinholes, inclusions, etc., inside the slab, the skin will peel off and warp after rolling or coiling, thus exposing them;
